Results are listed alphabetically. There is no price ranking: prices in different currencies and bases (per class, per term, per year) are not comparable. Children’s and teen classes appear only when you choose a youth audience or open Children & Teens. Online programs are never counted as physically located in a state or city. Items marked Sponsored are paid placements; they never change recognition status, verification or order.

About actor training in India

How actor training is organised

Actor training in India runs through a government film institute that is a deemed university (FTII's two-year MFA in Cinema with a Screen Acting specialisation), private film schools that offer degrees in association with a university (Whistling Woods International with TISS), and private acting studios in Mumbai and Delhi that award their own diplomas and run short weekend courses. Studio diplomas are provider awards, not academic degrees.

Names and levels are local to India. Similar names in other countries are not interchangeable.

Three-year BFA (6 semesters) and two-year MA (4 semesters); degrees are awarded by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences according to the school. Source

Languages and auditions

Teaching languages. Programmes in this sample are taught in English (FTII and Whistling Woods publish English prospectuses; FTII accepts monologues in Hindi or English); Barry John Acting Studio teaches mainly in Hindi with English support.

Admissions and auditions. Selective programmes combine a written or aptitude test with an audition and interview: FTII uses an MCQ written test followed by an audition, performance and interaction round with a prepared monologue; Whistling Woods weights an aptitude test, a creative ability test with monologue, a statement of purpose and a personal interview. Private studios use registration plus a monologue audition and interview (Actor Prepares). Source
