Results are listed alphabetically. There is no price ranking: prices in different currencies and bases (per class, per term, per year) are not comparable. Children’s and teen classes appear only when you choose a youth audience or open Children & Teens. Online programs are never counted as physically located in a state or city. Items marked Sponsored are paid placements; they never change recognition status, verification or order.

About actor training in Switzerland

How actor training is organised

Professional actor training in Switzerland is offered at universities of the arts and applied sciences, with Bachelor programmes taught in the local language of each region. In German-speaking Switzerland the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK) runs a Bachelor in Theatre with an acting major (6-8 semesters, 180 credits, taught in German); in French-speaking Switzerland La Manufacture in Lausanne runs a three-year, 180 ECTS Bachelor Théâtre for actors (taught in French). Both admit through staged auditions rather than on grades alone.

Languages and auditions

Teaching languages. Programmes are taught in the language of the region: German at ZHdK (some classes or projects with guest teachers may be in English) and French at La Manufacture, which requires a very good knowledge of French.

Admissions and auditions. ZHdK uses a free first-contact session (two monologues, a self-developed scene and a poem or short prose text) followed, by invitation, by a second round and a final round over up to four days; La Manufacture runs a competition in three phases (application file, two audition rounds) two years out of three and expects at least one year of prior intensive theatre training.
